Levelling legs screw into the base of the cabinet and let you adjust each corner so the machine stands square and steady. The pad on the end grips the floor and soaks up some vibration. When a leg's thread strips, the pad wears through or a leg goes missing, the machine sits unevenly. Levelling the machine
Switch the washer off at the wall and tip it back carefully with a helper, as it is heavy. Unscrew the old leg and wind the new one in by hand. Stand the machine up, then adjust each corner until a spirit level reads true front to back and side to side. Tighten any lock nuts, and press down on each corner to check the machine doesn't rock.
