Leaking dishwasher inlet hose?
Every fill draws mains water through this hose, so it is under pressure the whole time the tap is on. Over the years the fittings can corrode, the inner tube can perish, and the outer braid can fray or rust, especially in a damp cupboard. Look for water under the sink or behind the dishwasher, a drip at either end, a bulge in the hose, or slow filling. Because a burst inlet hose can flood a kitchen, replacing an ageing one before it fails is sensible.

Fitting the inlet hose
Turn the tap off and switch the dishwasher off at the wall. Disconnect the old hose at the tap and at the dishwasher, with a small container ready for trapped water. Check the sealing washers are seated in each end, screw the fittings on hand tight plus a little more, and turn the tap on slowly while watching both ends for leaks.

Is 2 metres long enough?
For most installs, where the tap is under the sink or in the cupboard beside the dishwasher, 2 metres leaves plenty of slack. Measure the run from your tap to the inlet on the dishwasher, allowing for the hose to curve gently without kinks.
