Simpson and Westinghouse top loaders draw their hot water through this genuine Electrolux group valve, part 4055731402. It's also known as 119410001. The model list covers Simpson SWT, 22S and 36S machines and Westinghouse WWT and LT models, among them the SWT8043, SWT9043 and SWT1043, the WWT8040, the 36S605M and the LT955SA.
Top loader not getting hot water
When a warm or hot wash is selected, the control sends power to this valve and it opens to let hot water into the bowl. If the coil fails, the washer will only fill from the cold side, so warm washes come out cold and fill times may stretch. A clogged screen in the hose inlet restricts flow in the same way. The opposite problem, water flowing in with the machine off, means the valve isn't closing, often because grit has lodged under the diaphragm. A leaking or faulty valve should be replaced rather than left.

Fitting the hot inlet valve
Turn off both water taps and pull the plug from the power point. Disconnect the hot hose at the back of the washer, then remove the console or rear cover that hides the valve. A quick photo of the wires and outlet tube saves guesswork later. Move them to the new valve, secure it in the same position and put the covers back on. Open the hot tap slowly and look for drips before running a warm wash.
