When to replace a top loader filter frame
On these machines the lint filter sits on a frame at the agitator, catching fluff and threads as water circulates. The frame holds the filter in the water flow and keeps it in place through every wash. Once it cracks or its clips break, the filter can work loose, lint gets back onto the clothes and pieces can end up in the pump. If your filter bag and cup are still in good shape, replacing just the frame is all you need.

Fitting the frame
Unplug the washer first. Remove the old filter and cup from the frame and check them for splits or worn clips, as they move across to the new frame. Unclip or lift out the old frame, fit the new one so it locks firmly into place, then reattach your filter and cup. Run a rinse and check everything stays put.
