Part 4055723409 is a genuine Electrolux drive belt for tumble dryers, also known by the number 0198300009. The belt wraps around the drum and the motor pulley to turn the drum. Models on file include the 3525DB, 3530DB, 5030DB, 5040EDB, 5050EDB, K503DB, K505EDB and K352DB, the 5015D and 5020D, and the D6776, D6940, DF002 and DF016. It is not the same belt as Fisher & Paykel 410010.
Dryer running but the drum not turning?
In a belt driven dryer, the motor turns a small pulley and the belt carries that drive around the outside of the drum, with a tensioner or idler keeping it tight. Belts stretch, crack and eventually snap, especially in dryers that are regularly overloaded. The classic sign is a dryer that hums and heats but the drum stays still, or a drum that spins freely by hand with the door open. A slipping belt can also cause a squeal or a burning rubber smell, and some dryers stop when they sense no drum movement.

Fitting a new dryer belt
Unplug the dryer before opening it up. Depending on the model, the drum is reached by removing the top or front panel. Clean out any lint while it is open, loop the new belt around the drum with the same side facing the drum as the old one, then route it around the idler and motor pulley as before. Turn the drum by hand to check it tracks straight before reassembling.
