Product details
Missing a knob, or has one cracked? Part 4055691457 is a genuine Electrolux universal knob kit with four 40mm knobs in a chrome finish, supplied with decals to mark each control. It's also catalogued as UK-40C4 and 0019008101. Because it's a universal kit, it's a handy way to replace a full set of cooktop knobs when the originals are hard to find.
Replacing worn or broken cooktop knobs
Cooktop knobs take a beating from heat, grease and cleaning sprays. Over time the plastic can crack, the insert that grips the control shaft can split, and printed markings wear off until it's hard to tell which burner or hotplate you're turning on. A knob that spins on its shaft or falls off is a safety problem as well as an annoyance. Replacing the whole set at once keeps the cooktop looking uniform, and the included decals let you label each knob for its zone.

Fitting the knobs
Turn the cooktop off and let it cool, and isolate gas or power at the wall if you'll be working near the controls. Pull the old knobs straight off their shafts. Check the new knobs suit your shaft shape before pushing them on firmly. Apply the decals to clean, dry knobs so they stick well.
Questions about this part
Will universal knobs fit my cooktop?
They're made to suit a wide range of cooktops, but control shafts vary. Pull one of your old knobs off and compare the shaft with the knob fitting before you order, especially on older or imported cooktops.
