Why a Westinghouse fan oven stops heating
In fan forced mode the fan pulls air across this ring element and pushes it back into the cavity, which is what gives even heat on every shelf. When the element burns out, the fan still spins and the oven light still comes on, but the cavity stays cold or takes forever to reach temperature. Other giveaways are a safety switch that trips the moment you select fan bake, a visible split or blister on the element, or food that cooks fine on the top and bottom elements but not in fan mode. A multimeter check across the two terminals settles it, as an open circuit means the element has failed.

Swapping the fan element
Turn the oven off at the isolator or switchboard before you start. Remove the racks and the rear fan cover, then undo the element screws. The terminals are reached from behind the oven, so it usually needs to come out of the cabinet. Photograph the wiring before you disconnect anything. Hard-wired ovens should be reconnected by a licensed electrician.
