Replacing the drum bearing

Start by pulling the plug and giving yourself room to work. The drum has to come out to reach the rear bearing, so remove the belt and support the drum as you lift it. Vacuum the lint out of the cabinet while it's open, as built-up lint is a fire risk. Check the drum shaft for wear before fitting the new bearing, and replace a cracked or glazed belt while everything is apart.
