Why the middle pane matters in a Westinghouse oven door
Most modern oven doors are built from several panes of glass with air gaps between them, and the middle pane is a big part of what keeps the outside of the door cooler to the touch. If it cracks or shatters, the door insulates poorly, the front glass and handle get hotter, and the oven loses heat. Broken glass between the panes can rattle, and grease or steam may find its way inside the door, leaving smears you cannot reach. Replacing the damaged pane restores the door's insulation.

Getting to the middle glass
Isolate the oven and let it cool fully. Take the door off and lay it on a towel, outside face down. On many models the inner panes are released by removing a trim strip or clips along the top edge of the door, then sliding the glass out. Note the order, orientation and any spacers or seals as you go. Clean all the panes before reassembly, fit the new middle glass the same way round and check the door closes correctly.

Oven doors with three or more panes have a middle glass sitting between the inner pane that faces the cavity and the outer front glass. If the cracked pane is neither of those, compare its size and shape with this part before ordering.
