When the clock button on a Simpson or Westinghouse oven stops working
The clock button is the push piece on the control panel that you press to set the time, the minute minder or the cooking timer. It sits in front of a small switch on the clock or timer board and passes your press through to it. Over years of use and oven heat the plastic can go brittle, snap off its stem or lose the lug that locates it, so the button sinks in, wobbles or simply falls out. If the button is intact but the clock still ignores every press, the fault is more likely in the clock module itself.

Swapping the clock button
Switch the oven off at the wall before you work on the control panel. Most clock buttons push onto a stem or clip in from behind the fascia, so on some models the panel has to come off to reach it.
