This 1800W, 240V heating element is the genuine Electrolux group part 4055561445, used as the grill element in the lower oven of many Westinghouse, Chef and Electrolux cookers and ovens. It is listed against more than 200 models, including Westinghouse WFE517SA, WFE619SA and WLE625WA, Chef CFE535WB and CFE547WB, Electrolux EUEE63CS, and a long run of PON and PAK models. Lower oven not grilling or browning on top
This element runs across the roof of the lower oven. It browns and grills from above and, on many models, works with the base element for conventional baking. When it fails, the grill in that cavity stays cold, the tops of bakes stay pale, and preheating takes much longer than it used to. Look for a break, a blister or a burnt spot along the tube. A blown element can also trip the safety switch the moment the grill is selected, and a multimeter showing open circuit across the terminals confirms it.

Before you fit the new grill element
Kill the power at the isolator or switchboard first. Remove the racks, undo the element's mounting screws inside the cavity, then reach the terminals from behind, which on most cookers means pulling the appliance out. Take a photo of the wiring and move the leads across one at a time. Check the new element sits clear of the oven roof. Where the cooker is hard-wired, the connection must be done by a licensed electrician.
