As the name suggests, an insert rack is made to sit inside another piece, typically a dish or tray, lifting food clear of the fat and juices that collect below. The part description is brief, so confirm the number against your oven's parts list, using the model and product number on the rating plate, before you order.

When to replace an oven insert rack

Insert racks hold food up off the base of a dish so hot air can reach underneath and fat drains away rather than pooling under meat or vegetables. They live a hard life of constant heat, fat and scrubbing. Replace one if the wires have bent so it no longer sits flat, the coating has worn through and it has started to rust, a weld has broken, or it simply went missing after a move. A rack that wobbles can tip food or scratch the dish it sits in.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux group part 4055550059

Insert rack

For Electrolux group ovens

Confirm by part number before ordering

Using the insert rack

Wash the rack before its first use. Place it inside the matching dish or tray so it sits level and doesn't rock, then slide the dish onto the shelf position your recipe needs. Don't drop a hot rack into cold water, which can stress the welds and coating. Soaking it in warm soapy water makes baked-on fat easier to shift.

Questions about this part

Is a dish or tray included?

No, this listing is for the insert rack on its own, part 4055550059.
