Product details

Supplied complete with its motor, 4055549507 is a genuine Electrolux group cooling fan assembly for ovens. It moves cool air through the space between the cavity and the outer case, protecting the control board and switches from heat. Our records don't list its wattage, voltage or models. Compare the plug, mounting holes and fan wheel with your old unit, or send the oven's model and PNC for us to check.

Signs the oven cooling fan motor has failed

Ovens with electronic controls depend on the cooling fan to keep the board and wiring within safe temperatures. A failing motor may be slow to start, hum without turning, run with a rattle or high-pitched whine, or stop completely. Without cooling, the knobs, touch panel and door top get hotter than usual, a safety thermostat may shut the oven down mid-cook, and heat damage can creep into the control board. A seized fan wheel is often caused by grease and dust, so check it turns freely by hand.

Replacing the cooling fan assembly

Switch off the oven at the circuit breaker. If it's hard-wired, have a licensed electrician disconnect and reconnect it. Slide the oven out of its cabinet, remove the top cover and note how the fan sits in its duct. Transfer the wiring one plug at a time, fit the new assembly in the same position and run the oven to confirm the fan starts as the oven warms.

Questions about this part

My oven's cooling fan runs but is very noisy. Do I need the whole assembly?

Noise usually comes from worn motor bearings or a damaged fan wheel, and the assembly replaces both in one go. It's also the quickest fix, as there's no need to separate the wheel from the motor shaft.
