The inner pane takes the full heat of the oven and is the first layer of the door's insulation. It holds heat in the cavity and keeps the outer glass cooler to touch. Replacing the inner door glass

Let the oven cool fully and switch it off at the isolator. Most of these doors come off by opening fully, flipping the hinge clips and lifting the door free. Lay it face down on a towel, release the top trim and slide the inner pane out, noting which way round it sits and which side any printing faces. Clean every pane before the trim goes back on.
