At the back of a fan forced oven cavity, a shaped panel sits in front of the fan. Genuine cover 4055548855 is that convection fan cover for Electrolux group ovens. It directs the heated air out into the oven and keeps trays and fingers away from the blade. Its size and models aren't on our records, so compare the shape and screw positions with your old cover, or send your oven's model and PNC.
Damaged fan cover and uneven fan forced cooking
In a fan forced oven, the fan draws air in through the centre of the cover and pushes it back out through vents around the edge, past the ring element. The cover's shape controls that airflow. A cover that's warped, badly rusted, or left out after cleaning lets heat blast in one direction, so food cooks unevenly or browns on one side. A cover rubbing on the blade makes a scraping or ticking noise. On some fan forced ovens the ring element is also fixed to the back of the cover.

Changing the fan cover
With the oven isolated at the circuit breaker and fully cooled, remove the racks and side runners, then undo the screws holding the cover to the back wall. If the ring element is mounted behind it, take care not to strain its terminals. Fit the new cover with every screw in place and spin the fan by hand to check it doesn't touch.

Can I run the oven without the fan cover?
It's not a good idea. Without the cover, air flows unevenly, the fan and element are exposed, and trays or fingers can contact the blade. Fit a cover before using fan forced functions again.
