Models on file include Westinghouse ovens such as the WVE615S and WVE626S, along with the WVE616S and WVE665S, Chef CFE536WB and CFG503WBNG cookers, and the Electrolux EOC647W. Ovens made before March 2014 need a different seal.
Heat escaping from the oven door? Replace the seal
The door seal is the gasket that runs around the oven opening and closes the gap when the door shuts. It keeps heat inside the cavity, so the oven reaches temperature quickly and cooks evenly, and it stops hot air blowing onto the controls and knobs above. Seals go hard, flatten, fray or break at the corners with age and cleaning. Signs include hot air or steam escaping around the door, scorch marks on the front, longer cooking times and food that browns unevenly. A torn seal also lets grease and smoke out into the kitchen.

Fitting the new door seal
Make sure the oven is off and completely cool. Note where the old seal's joint sits and how its clips or hooks locate in the frame before pulling it out. Start the new seal at the same point, press each clip in firmly and work evenly around the corners without stretching it. Close the door and check it seals all round with no gaps.
