Fitting a new hob seal
Isolate the power supply to the cooktop, plus the gas supply on a gas model, before lifting it out. Scrape away every trace of the old seal and wipe the rim clean and dry. Run the new seal evenly around the edge without stretching it, and butt the ends together neatly. Hard-wired and gas cooktops must be reconnected by a licensed electrician or gas fitter.
