A universal filter is made to suit a range of hoods rather than one model, which makes it a handy replacement when the original filter is hard to identify. The filter type and exact dimensions are not recorded against 4055540266, so measure your existing filter and check it against the 600 size before ordering.

When to replace a rangehood filter

Rangehood filters catch grease and cooking residue before it reaches the motor and ductwork, and in recirculating hoods a carbon filter also absorbs smells. A clogged filter cuts airflow, so steam lingers, smells spread through the house, and the motor works harder and gets noisier. Grease build up in a filter is also a fire risk. If your hood is not clearing steam like it used to, or the filter is saturated, discoloured or damaged, it is time for a new one.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 4055540266

Universal rangehood filter

Size marking 600

Filter type and dimensions not on file, measure your old filter

Size marking

600

Fitting the filter

Switch the rangehood off at the wall.
