Long leads like this run from the burner back to the ignition module, so the length has to match. Burner clicking but not lighting? Check the spark plug electrode
When you press or turn the ignition, the module sends a high voltage pulse down the lead to the spark plug, which jumps a spark across to the burner. A cracked ceramic insulator, a damaged lead or a tip coated in grease lets the spark leak away. You'll notice a burner that clicks but doesn't catch, a weak or missing spark, sparks jumping somewhere other than the burner, or one burner that won't light while the others are fine. Cleaning the tip sometimes helps, but cracked ceramic needs a new electrode.

Fitting a new spark plug
Turn off the gas at the isolation valve and switch off power at the wall, because the ignition system carries a high voltage. Route the new lead along the same path as the old one, away from hot surfaces and sharp edges. In Australia, work that involves opening up a gas appliance should be done by a licensed gas fitter, who will test the burner afterwards.
