The burner body is the base of the burner that is fixed into the cooktop and takes gas from the injector, with the crown and cap sitting on top. This version is made for a burner with spark ignition. Order it if the body is corroded, cracked or damaged, and check the number against your parts list first.

Signs a gas burner body is damaged

The burner body carries gas from the injector up to the crown, mixing it with air on the way. It sits in a hot, wet spot right under the flame, so boil-overs and cleaning products can corrode it over time. A damaged body can cause flames that lift or burn unevenly, a burner that is hard to light, or a gas smell near the burner. Warped or loose bodies can also misalign the spark electrode and flame safety parts. Any gas smell needs a licensed gas fitter, not guesswork.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part 4055538690

Burner body for a semi-rapid burner

Ignition type

Model fit not on file, compare with your old burner body

Install by a licensed gas fitter

Who should fit a burner body

The burner body forms part of the gas path, so in Australia it must be installed by a licensed gas fitter.
