This is a genuine Electrolux oven fan motor, part 4055471058, supplied without a fan blade. It drives the convection fan at the back of a fan forced oven. Because the blade isn't included, you'll move your existing blade across, which is fine as long as it's straight and undamaged. Match the number on your old motor before ordering.

Oven fan noisy or not spinning?

A fan forced oven circulates hot air with a fan mounted on a motor shaft behind the back panel of the cavity. The motor runs hot for hours at a time, so its bearings dry out and its windings eventually fail. Common signs are a grinding or screeching noise when the oven is on, a fan that turns slowly or only after a nudge, uneven cooking with one side browning faster, or an oven that takes far longer to reach temperature on fan settings. If the fan element heats but the fan stays still, the motor is the usual suspect.

Fitting the motor and refitting the blade

Isolate the oven at the switchboard and let it cool completely. Hard-wired ovens should be handled by a licensed electrician. Take off the back panel inside the oven to reach the blade, and check the nut thread before forcing it, as oven fan nuts are often left-hand thread. Photograph the wiring at the back before swapping motors, then refit the blade and turn it by hand to check it doesn't rub.
