Heat escaping around the oven door wastes power and slows cooking. Part 4055470720 is the genuine door seal for a group of Westinghouse, Electrolux and AEG ovens. On the Westinghouse side that includes the WFE914SA and WFE916SA, the WFE946SB, and the WVE914SB and WVE916SA. Electrolux models include the EFE916BA and EFE956BA and the EVE916BA. It replaces the older number 0208003461.
Signs your oven door seal has failed
The seal runs around the front of the oven cavity and presses against the inner door glass when the door is shut. That keeps the heat in, stops steam and grease escaping, and keeps the control panel and knobs from getting too hot. Over years of heating and cooling it goes flat, hard or brittle, and it can tear if it gets caught in the door. Watch for scorch marks or steam staining above the door, knobs that run hotter than they used to, longer cooking times, or a gap you can see with the door closed.

Fitting the new door seal
Make sure the oven is off and completely cold, and open the door wide for room. Seals of this type are usually held by clips pushed into holes around the cavity, so start at the top centre and ease the old one out. Fit the new seal from the top down, pressing each clip in firmly. Then close the door and check it seals evenly all the way round.
