Cracked switch box or missing cover? Why it should be replaced
The switch box holds the control switch in position and keeps its terminals enclosed. The cover closes it off so fingers, grease and moisture can't reach live parts. Fitting a new switch box
Turn off power at the isolator or unplug the appliance first. Photograph the switch wiring, then move the switch across into the new box exactly as it was. Make sure no wires are pinched when the cover goes on. If the appliance is hard-wired, or you're unsure about any of the electrical work, have a licensed electrician fit it.
