Product details
Inside the indoor unit of a split system sits a long barrel-shaped fan that blows air across the coil and out through the louvres. This genuine Electrolux group blade assembly, 4055269825, is that cross flow fan, and it's also referenced as 10352420. There's no model list on file, so match either number on your old fan, or send the indoor unit's model and serial number and we'll check it.
Split system rattling, vibrating or blowing weakly
The cross flow fan, also called a tangential or barrel fan, runs the full width of the indoor unit. The fan motor drives one end and a rubber bearing supports the other. Blades crack with age and heat, dust builds up unevenly and the fan goes out of balance. Common signs are rattling, ticking or a rhythmic wobble from the indoor unit, poor airflow even on high, and visible mould or grime on the blades. A cracked or loose hub can also let the fan slip on the motor shaft.

Changing the indoor fan
Turn the system off and isolate it at the dedicated circuit breaker or isolator, since split systems are hard-wired. Removing the fan usually means taking off the front cover and sometimes lifting or loosening the coil, so this job suits an air conditioning technician or licensed electrician. Check the end bearing at the same time and replace it if it's worn. Run the unit and listen for vibration.
Questions about this part
Should I replace the fan bearing at the same time?
It's worth checking. The rubber bearing at the end of the fan wears along with it, and a worn bearing causes wobble and noise even with a new fan fitted. Ask us about the matching bearing for your model.
