Product details
Part 4055234498 is a genuine Electrolux exhaust filter, also known by the number A3500010049R. We've listed it for Electrolux vacuum cleaners. Exhaust filters vary a lot in shape and size between models, so check that one of the two numbers matches your old filter or your vacuum's manual, or send us the model number from the label on the underside of the vacuum and we'll confirm.
Vacuum losing suction or smelling dusty? Replace the exhaust filter
An exhaust filter is the last stage the air passes through before it leaves the vacuum. It catches fine dust that gets past the bag or bin, along with carbon dust from the motor, so the air blowing out stays cleaner. As it clogs, airflow drops and the motor works harder. Signs include weaker suction, a dusty or musty smell when the vacuum runs, a fine film of dust settling around the room after vacuuming, and the motor running hotter or louder than normal.

Changing the exhaust filter
Unplug the vacuum, or take the battery out of a cordless model, before opening the filter cover. Note which way the old filter faces, as many only fit one way. Tap loose dust off outdoors and wipe the housing before fitting the new filter. Don't wash a filter unless the instructions for your model say it's washable.
Questions about this part
How often should the exhaust filter be replaced?
It depends on how often you vacuum and the type of filter. A good habit is to check it whenever suction drops or you notice a dusty smell, and replace it once it stays grey and clogged after a tap out.
