Electrolux ERI512SA and ERI712SA filter frame won't stay up?
On these rangehoods the grease filter grid is held up by small knob style clips. Each time the filters come out for cleaning, the clips get handled, and over time they wear, crack or go missing. When that happens the filter frame can sag, rattle when the fan runs, or drop down without warning. A loose filter also lets grease bypass it and build up inside the motor housing, so a secure fit matters for safety as well as extraction.

Fitting the filter clips
Switch the rangehood off before reaching inside, and let the surface cool if you've been cooking. Take the grease filter out and remove what's left of the old clips. Fit the new knobs in the same positions, refit the filter and check it sits flush and locks firmly. A quick run on the highest fan speed will tell you if anything still rattles.
