Swapping the carbon filter

Switch off the rangehood and let it cool. Remove the metal grease filters first. The carbon filter is normally fixed over the motor housing with clips, a bayonet twist or a frame. Note its position, swap it for the new one and refit the grease filters. If your rangehood has two carbon filters, change both at the same time so airflow stays even.
