Product details
Part 365478 is a genuine BSH metal mesh filter, also written 00365478. In a rangehood, a mesh filter like this is the grease filter that sits under the canopy and traps fat from cooking vapour before it reaches the fan. Grease filters are shaped and sized for each rangehood range, so check this number against your parts list or measure your old filter before ordering.
Why a worn grease filter hurts extraction
Layers of fine metal mesh catch grease droplets as air is pulled into the rangehood. A filter in good condition lets air through easily and holds the grease where it can be washed out. Filters that are dented, torn or caked with old fat restrict airflow, so the fan works harder, gets noisier and extracts less. Grease that gets past a damaged filter coats the motor and ductwork, which is a fire risk. If yours won't come clean any more, it's time to replace it.

Fitting and caring for the filter
Switch the rangehood off and let it cool if you've just been cooking. Press the release catch and lower the old filter, supporting it so it doesn't drop. Fit the new filter with the catch in the same position as before and push until it clicks. Wash metal mesh filters regularly in warm soapy water or the dishwasher, following your rangehood manual.
Questions about this part
Do I need more than one filter?
Many rangehoods take two or three grease filters side by side. Count the filters in your canopy and order one 365478 for each worn filter, once you've checked the number on your parts list.
