A triple crown wok burner spreads gas through rings of flame ports so a wok gets heat across its base, not just in one spot. The crown takes more heat and spills than almost anything else on the cooktop, so over time its ports clog, the metal warps or it corrodes. Signs include yellow or lazy flames, gaps where some ports no longer light, flames lifting off the burner, a ring that will not light at all, or a crown that rocks and will not sit flat.

Fitting the burner crown
Turn the burner off and wait until everything is cold. Lift off the caps and the old crown, clean any spills from the burner base, then seat the new crown so it locates properly and sits level. Refit the caps and light the burner to check every ring burns blue and even. If flames stay yellow or lift, have a licensed gas fitter check the burner.
