The crown is the slotted ring the flame burns from, and this one sits on the upper level of the burner. We don't have a model list for it yet, so compare it closely with your old crown, or send your cooktop's model and PNC through the parts enquiry form and we'll confirm the fit.

When a gas cooktop burner crown needs replacing

Gas leaves the injector, mixes with air in the burner body and exits through the ports around the crown, where it lights into an even ring of flame. Over years of boil-overs and cleaning, crowns warp, crack or corrode, and the ports clog with burnt-on food. Typical signs are a patchy or yellow flame, flames lifting away from the ports, a burner that is slow to light or goes out on low, and a crown that no longer sits flat. A soft brush can clear blocked ports, but a distorted crown has to be replaced.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux group part 3540166018

Upper crown for a Defendi gas burner

Sits on the upper level of the burner assembly

No model list on file, confirm fit by part number or PNC

Swapping the burner crown

Turn off the gas supply to the cooktop and let the burner cool completely. Lift off the cap and the old crown, noting how the locating lugs line up with the burner body and the ignition electrode.
