Product details

This is the genuine Glen Dimplex oven fan motor, part number 33315002, for fan forced ovens supplied through Glen Dimplex. Please note it comes as the motor only. The matching fan blade has been discontinued, so plan to move the blade from your old motor across to the new one. Before ordering, check that 33315002 appears on your oven's parts list or on the label of the motor you're replacing.

Signs the fan motor in your oven is failing

The fan motor sits behind the back panel of the oven cavity and spins the blade that pushes hot air around the food. When it starts to fail, the first sign is often noise, such as grinding, squealing or a rattle that changes as the motor warms up. Other times the fan turns slowly, stops part way through cooking or doesn't start at all, even though the light and element come on. Food then cooks unevenly, with hot spots near the element and pale patches elsewhere. Worn bearings are the usual cause, and a motor with tired bearings rarely recovers for long.

Moving your old blade to the new motor

Switch the oven off at the circuit breaker, and if it's hard-wired, have a licensed electrician do the job. Take out the rear panel, then remove the blade carefully. Some blade nuts have a left-hand thread, so turn gently and don't force it. Photograph the wiring, fit the motor, refit the blade and spin it by hand to check it runs clear before testing.

Questions about this part

Does this motor come with a fan blade?

No. Part 33315002 is supplied as the motor on its own, and the original fan blade is no longer made. In most cases the blade from your old motor can be cleaned and refitted, as long as it isn't cracked, bent or loose on its hub.
