Product details

32244025 is a genuine Glen Dimplex knob from the group's oven and cooker range. Glen Dimplex spares cover several cooking brands, and their knobs often look alike while differing in shaft fit and markings, so the number is your best guide. This knob isn't tied to particular models in our records. Check the number on your old knob or the parts list, and compare the shaft fitting and markings before you order.

Knob slipping or markings worn off?

Every knob on an oven or cooker sits near heat and is handled daily. The plastic socket that grips the control shaft can crack or wear smooth, and once that happens the knob turns without moving the control or pulls off with the slightest tug. Heat from the oven door and cooktop also fades printed symbols, leaving you guessing at the setting. On a gas cooker, a knob that doesn't show the off position clearly is a real hazard. A genuine knob restores a firm grip and clear markings.

Changing the knob

Make sure the control is turned off, and on a gas cooker check that every burner is out. Grip the old knob firmly and pull it straight towards you. If it's tight, slide a cloth behind it and lever gently. Push the new knob onto the shaft, matching the flat side, then check the pointer lines up with off and every setting in between.

Questions about this part

The knob spins but the oven still works. Is it the knob?

Most likely. If the knob turns freely without clicking through the settings, but the control shaft underneath is intact and turns firmly, the knob's socket has worn or split. A replacement knob is the fix.
