Resealing a cooktop

Turn off power at the switchboard, and on a gas cooktop close the gas isolation valve. Reconnecting gas must be done by a licensed gas fitter, and hard-wired electric hobs by a licensed electrician. Peel off the old tape, clean the rim with a degreaser and let it dry. Apply the new tape in one continuous run without stretching it, then lower the cooktop evenly into the cut-out.
