Greasy, bent or warped Technika rangehood filter?
The mesh filter catches fat and grease from cooking before it reaches the rangehood fan and ducting. Layers of aluminium mesh trap the droplets while still letting air through. Over time filters get dented, the frame bends so it no longer seals, or grease bakes on so hard that washing won't shift it. A clogged filter makes the fan noisier and the extraction weaker, and lets grease build up inside the hood where it can drip or become a fire hazard. If the frame is damaged or the mesh is torn, a new filter is the fix.

Fitting the mesh filter
Turn the rangehood off and let the cooktop cool. Release the old filter by its catch or handle and lower it out. Check which way round the new one goes, hook the back edge in and push up until it clicks home. To keep it working well, wash it regularly in hot soapy water and let it dry before refitting.
