The door boot gasket is the flexible seal between the drum and the door glass on a front loader. 301G15A012205 is the genuine Whirlpool gasket for the Whirlpool FWEB9002IG and FWEB9002IW. If yours is split, perished or covered in mould that won't clean off, this is the replacement. Check the model on the label around the door opening to make sure it matches before you order.
Leaks and mould: when a Whirlpool door seal needs changing
The boot closes the gap between the outer tub and the front of the cabinet, so water stays inside the drum while it tumbles and spins. Over time the folds collect lint, detergent and moisture, and that constant damp leads to black mould, smells and eventually cracks or holes. A torn seal lets water escape, usually seen as puddles in front of the machine or drips down the door during the wash. Bra wires and coins caught in the folds can also cut it. Check every fold carefully with a torch.

Fitting the new boot
Unplug the machine and turn off the taps. The boot is usually held by one clamp ring on the cabinet side and another on the tub side, and the inner clamp can be fiddly, so take photos and note where the drain holes and any alignment marks sit. Seat the lip evenly all the way round before refitting the clamps, then run a rinse and check for leaks.

Wipe the folds dry after washing, leave the door ajar between loads and run a hot maintenance wash regularly. Using the right amount of low suds detergent also helps stop residue building up in the folds.
