Product details

Part 271825 is a genuine Ariston and Whirlpool oven part, the support that anchors the door hinge, and it is also sold under the full numbers C00271825 and 482000031064. It is listed for the Ariston CP859MTXAUSS and MB91IXAUSS, and is linked to 482000053760 and C00075148 too. Because the support is the bracket on the oven body that the hinge works against, a damaged one affects how the whole door hangs.

Ariston oven door dropping or not closing? Check the hinge support

Each oven door hinge needs a solid anchor in the oven body, and the hinge support provides it. The door is heavy and gets opened to full stretch every time you check the cooking, so the support carries a lot of load. When it bends, cracks or works loose, the door can sit crooked, drop on one side, spring open or leave a gap at the top where heat escapes. You may also feel the door grind or catch as it moves. Left unrepaired, the extra movement can damage the hinge itself and the door seal.

Fitting the hinge support

Switch the oven off at the isolator and let it cool fully. Take the door off first, as working with it attached strains the hinges and can trap fingers. Note exactly how the old support is fixed and which way it faces before taking it out. Fit the new support, refit the door and check it closes square and seals all the way round. If the support on the other side shows the same wear, replace that one too.
