Beko oven grill not working?

The grill element sits at the top of the cavity and glows red to brown or crisp food from above. On many ovens it also adds top heat in some cooking functions. A failed grill element usually stays dark while the oven light and fan carry on working, or it heats along only part of its length. Look for a visible break, a blistered or bulging section, or burn marks where it passes through the back wall. If the safety switch trips the moment the grill is turned on, the element may have shorted to earth.

Changing a grill element

Isolate the oven at the switchboard and let it cool, as built-in ovens are hard-wired and a licensed electrician should fit the element. The terminals are usually reached from the back once the oven is pulled from its cavity. Photograph the wiring, undo the fixing screws and ease the old element out. Fit the new one, reconnect the wires as before and test the grill.
