Fridge not cooling? Check the starter relay
The PTC relay plugs onto the side of the compressor and gives the start winding a short boost of current each time the motor kicks in. Inside is a ceramic element that heats up and cuts off the start circuit once the compressor is running. When the relay fails, the compressor may hum and click off every few minutes, refuse to start at all, or trip the overload. The cabinet slowly warms while the lights and fans keep working. A rattle when you shake the old relay usually means the ceramic has cracked.

Fitting a compressor starter relay
Unplug the fridge before touching anything near the compressor. Pull the cover off the compressor terminals, photograph the wiring and ease the old relay straight off the pins. Push the new relay fully home, reconnect and refit the cover. Compressor electrical work is best left to a qualified refrigeration or appliance technician. If the fridge still won't start, the compressor or overload may be faulty.

It can be used, but this relay differs from the one fitted to that model at the factory, so you'll also need harness 1458703 to connect it. Order both together if you're repairing a WCM7000WC.
