Smeg or Blanco fan oven not heating
Fan forced cooking relies on this ring element wrapped around the rear fan. The fan draws air across the element and sends the heat out through the cavity. If the element fails, the fan keeps turning but the oven stays cool in fan modes, preheating drags on, or cakes bake unevenly from front to back. An element shorting to earth can trip the safety switch the moment fan bake is selected. Look for a visible break or blistering once the fan cover is off, and confirm with a continuity test across the terminals before ordering.

Matching and fitting the element

To fit it, isolate power at the switchboard, take out the fan cover and undo the element screws. The oven will usually need to come out of the cabinet to reach the terminals at the back.
