Fitting the knob

Turn the control to its off position and, on gas appliances, make sure every burner is off. Pull the old knob straight off the shaft without twisting the control. Line up the socket in the new knob with the flat on the shaft and push it on firmly. Turn it through its range to check it points to the correct settings and returns cleanly to off.
