Fitting the knob

Switch the oven off. Most knobs pull straight off the shaft, so grip the old one firmly and pull it towards you without twisting the control. Check the shaft shape against the new knob, line up the flat side or marker, and push it on until it's firm. Turn it through every position to make sure it points at the right markings. If the shaft itself is loose or broken, the control behind it needs a licensed electrician.
