Signs your side by side fridge door seal needs replacing
The gasket is the flexible magnetic strip around the inside of the door that pulls tight against the cabinet to hold cold air in. Once it tears, flattens or loses its grip, the compressor has to run longer to make up the loss. Look for frost building up in the freezer, beads of water around the door opening, mould in the folds of the rubber, or a door that won't stay sealed when pushed shut. An easy test is to close the door on a sheet of paper and see whether it slides out without resistance.
