Fridge seal not sealing? Warm air, frost and condensation
The door gasket grips the cabinet to hold the door closed tight. Once it hardens, splits or loses its shape, small gaps let warm, moist air inside. The result is frost on the back wall or evaporator, water pooling in the crisper, condensation around the door frame and the compressor running far more than it should. Try the paper test: close the door on a sheet of paper and pull it out. If it slides out easily at any point around the door, the seal isn't gripping there.

Fitting a new fridge door seal
Start with the fridge unplugged. New seals are often creased from packing, so warm the gasket gently in warm water or with a hair dryer to soften it before fitting. Pull the old seal out of its retaining channel, or undo the retaining screws, starting at one corner. Press the new seal in evenly, then close the door and check for gaps once it has settled.
