A pump that has failed electrically leaves the drum full and the cycle stuck, usually with a drain fault on the display. One with a jammed or broken impeller may hum while nothing drains, or rattle loudly as it runs. Coins, hairpins and bra wires are frequent culprits, so clean the pump filter at the bottom front of the machine before deciding the pump itself is gone.

Part details

Genuine Bosch part 146258

Also written 00146258

Cross references 00146193, 00145935, 00146117, 00146403 and 12044806

Listed for Bosch WAW, WAP and WGA front load washers

Swapping the drain pump

Unplug the washer and turn off the tap.
