The fan forced element sits around the fan at the back of the oven and heats the air the fan circulates. Our records don't list the wattage or the oven models, and the group has more than one fan forced element, so check the number on your old element or your parts list.

Oven fan forced function not heating?

When the fan forced element fails, the oven light and fan usually still work, but the oven stays cold or heats very slowly on fan forced settings, while bake or grill may work as normal. Elements often fail with a visible break, blister or burnt spot, and sometimes trip the safety switch when switched on. A multimeter check across the terminals confirms an open circuit, and a reading to the element sheath points to a short to earth. Thermostat or selector switch faults can produce similar symptoms.

Part details

Genuine Eurostyle group part 1420500304

Fan forced (convection) oven element

Wattage and model list not on file

Check against the number on your old element

Fitting the fan forced element

Isolate the oven at the switchboard before starting. Hard-wired ovens should be handled by a licensed electrician. Remove the rear fan cover inside the oven, photograph the wiring at the element terminals, and fit the new element with its screws and any seal. Refit the cover, restore power and check the element heats on the fan forced setting.

Questions about this part

Is 1420500309 the same element?

Both are Eurostyle group fan forced elements, but they carry different part numbers, which can mean a difference in rating, size or fit.
