Humidity sensors measure moisture in the air around them and report it to the control board, which then adjusts how the appliance runs. Electrolux uses them in more than one type of appliance and the description doesn't name which one this suits, so the number on your old sensor, or a quote from your technician, is the way to confirm it.

Signs of a faulty humidity sensor

Because the control board relies on its readings, a failing sensor tends to cause odd rather than dramatic faults. Cycles may run much longer or shorter than they should, automatic programs may stop early or never finish, an error code may appear, or the appliance may ignore its automatic settings altogether. Dirt, lint, grease or condensation can coat the sensor and upset its readings, so a careful clean is worth trying first. Check the wiring and plug as well, since a corroded terminal gives the same symptoms as a failed sensor.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux group part 140217317019

Humidity sensor

Appliance not named, match the part number

Fitting the sensor

Switch off and unplug the appliance before removing any covers. Note how the sensor is mounted and which way it faces, since airflow over it affects the reading. Disconnect the plug gently, fit the new sensor in the same position and orientation, and reconnect. Run a full automatic program afterwards to see that it behaves normally.

Questions about this part

How do I know this sensor suits my appliance?

Electrolux doesn't attach an appliance or model list to 140217317019.
