It's part of the plumbing where the filter joins the fridge's water supply, which feeds the dispenser or ice maker. Electrolux lists several filter connectors and manifolds with similar numbers, and we don't have a model list for this one. Check your model and PNC against the parts list before ordering.

Fridge leaking near the water filter?

Water from the mains passes through the filter connection on its way to the filter cartridge and back out to the dispenser or ice maker. The connection has to hold mains pressure while letting you twist filters in and out, so its seals and locking lugs take wear. When it cracks or its seals fail you may see water pooling under the filter or inside the fridge, a filter that won't lock in or leaks once fitted, or weak flow at the dispenser.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part number 140171222072

Filter connection for the fridge water filter system

For Electrolux group fridges

Model list not on file, confirm by PNC

Fitting the filter connection

Turn off the water supply to the fridge and run the dispenser briefly to release the pressure, then unplug the fridge and remove the filter. Have towels ready, since some water stays in the lines. Photograph the tubing connections before releasing them, push each tube fully into the new connection until it locks, then turn the water back on slowly, refit the filter and check every joint for drips.

Questions about this part

Does this come with a water filter?

No. This is the connection that the filter attaches to, not the filter cartridge itself.
