It replaces a knob that has cracked, lost its grip on the shaft or had its markings worn away. It turns the switch, thermostat or gas valve behind the panel, and it shows you which setting is selected. Heat from the oven door and cooktop, along with grease and cleaning sprays, slowly makes knobs brittle. Common faults are a knob that spins without moving the control, one that keeps falling off, a split skirt, or markings so faded you can't tell the setting. A fresh knob brings back a firm grip and a clear pointer.

Part details

Genuine Electrolux part number 140157296017

White control knob

Made for Chef branded appliances

Colour

White

Fitting the new knob

Make sure the appliance is switched off and cool, and that every gas burner is off. Pull the old knob straight towards you, keeping it square so the shaft doesn't bend. Line up the new knob with the off position and push it on until it seats. Check it turns cleanly through each setting and returns to off.
