Product details

Part 140129856062 is a genuine Electrolux group double water valve rated at 220V, listed for the Lynx fridge platform used on Westinghouse fridges. A double valve has two outlets, so one supply line can feed two places, typically the ice maker and the water dispenser. Since there's no model list on file, confirm the number on your old valve, or send us your fridge's model number before ordering.

Fridge not making ice or dispensing water? Test the inlet valve

The inlet valve is the gate between the household water line and the fridge. When the fridge calls for water, it powers a solenoid coil and the valve opens just long enough to fill the ice tray or run the dispenser. A coil that has burnt out leaves one or both outlets dead, so you get no ice, no water or neither. A valve that's sticking or has a split body can do the opposite, dripping behind the fridge, overfilling the ice tray or leaving cubes fused together in the bucket. Low water pressure and a blocked filter cause similar symptoms, so rule those out first.

Changing the water valve

Turn off the water at the fridge's isolation tap and unplug the fridge before pulling it out. Lay a towel down, as some water will drain from the lines. Photograph which tube and wire goes to each outlet, then move them across one at a time, making sure every tube is pushed fully home. Turn the water on slowly and check for drips over the next hour.

Questions about this part

Do I need to replace the water filter as well?

Not necessarily, but a blocked filter can starve the valve of water and mimic a valve fault. If your filter is due for its regular change, replacing it at the same time saves pulling the fridge out twice and gives the new valve a clean supply.
