Why replace an LED light lens
LED boards themselves last a long time, but the plastic lens over them is exposed to knocks, cleaning and, in some appliances, heat, moisture or grease. A cracked or broken lens leaves the board open to splashes and damage, and a lens with snapped clips can rattle, sag or fall out. Old lenses can also cloud or discolour, making the light look dim or patchy even though the LEDs are fine. A new lens restores the light output and keeps the board covered.

Fitting the new lens
Switch the appliance off at the wall or isolator so the LED board isn't live while it's exposed. Note how the old lens is held, usually by clips or small screws, and release it gently to avoid stressing the board. Wipe dust off the LEDs with a dry cloth, line up the new lens and press it home evenly until it seats along its full length.
